Today is my last day at American Eagle…again. I feel as though it is an emotional healing moment for me. THIS time, I get to choose when I am done at AE, it is not taken from me so quickly in such a tragic moment. I wasn’t mentally prepared last time to be done with AE, I think I am now and I am glad I GOT to choose when to be done this time. I’ve had a GREAT 10 weeks of being in a place that I love and people that I enjoy being around. Lindy had fun with great kids and women who love her like their own daughter but was starting to show signs of wanting momma to be home again.
We have also decided that Dale WILL be a GRAD Student at CMU starting August 23rd! We are so proud of him and excited about the future possibilities. I LOVE student life, so I can live vicariously through my husband, for example: We’ve both been shopping for laptops…hoping to buy a laptop when school starts…FOR ME. ha. I act like I’M going to school. Nope. Just want to get a Mac for fun.
Lindy is doing GREAT. She is such a joy to be around and I think she’s brilliant. What can I say? I’m a proud momma.
She is exercising her will just a little bit more around the house which keeps us on our toes. I caught her lying to me the other day -it was REALLY really hard to explain what a lie is and what the truth is. She KNEW that she was in trouble but I had a hard time explaining truth. Any ideas on how to explain truth? I basically had to say that God doesn’t like it when we say things that aren’t true (NEITHER does momma!)
We have a new “chore” chart that I scored from a garage sale this weekend. I’ve wanted one for a while now but they cost about $50 -obscene! I got two for less than $2! Among the chores are brushing teeth, setting the table and eventually feeding the dog. You can see below she has mastered the art of feeding the dog.
Easter
We had a nice Easter this year, besides the fact that Dale worked EIGHT CHURCH services that weekend. That was a bit much. We did manage to squeeze in a lovely lunch on Sunday afternoon with about 10 of our friends in the city. We enjoyed the company and Lindy had fun playing with friends. I FINALLY allowed her to wear the white dress that has been hanging in her closet for a year, yes, I probably should have just HID the dress. She has asked me every Sunday for a year if she can wear it. First thing out of bed on Easter morning, she KNEW she could put on the dress and GIGGLED all morning as she twirled.
Love those curls!
Adventure on a Train
We are excited that next week, Grandma Z is flying to town and then Lindy, G-ma and myself will be taking a train to Chicago for cousin Kellyn’s FIRST birthday party! I can’t even express how excited I am that MOM is coming to town. Its amazing how much a grown woman misses her mom sometimes. We have a few projects to work on -I look forward to “mom help.” Daddy cannot go with us which is a disappointment, we will miss him on our adventure.
In Everett News
Lately we have been asking Lindy who she wants to pray for at night and this week she prayed for her cousin Kellyn and prayed that “Kellyn would not die.” Oh dear. I had no idea that was coming. Tonight she prayed for “dad to stay safe at work” and for “mom to not cry about baby Everett.” (P.S. In MY defense, I do not sit around the house everyday and cry about my son, I’m starting to think she is picking up on my sadness about not being pregnant…) HOLY COW. I really wasn’t prepared for THAT! We should have been asking her to pray LONG ago if this was what was on her mind. I had no idea. We mention Everett MAYBE once every other week and that is because we are passing the cemetery or throwing the laundry in “Everett’s crib.” Mental note…ask Lindy to pray more AND encourage her to pray for the dog or something.
Stay tuned in the near future, I am hoping to revamp the website a little bit, possibly move it ALL to wordpress. Still debating that in my head.
I will also be adding a special section on being a Diabetic -it will include some funny stuff and Lindy will have a page of photos that she has taken over the past 6 months -she captures some interesting stuff on camera.
