New Job for Dale

I’ve started a new job. A part time paid position became available at church and we decided to help Lindy’s college fund. An answer to prayer before we even started praying for it.  I am assiting every other weekend in the audio/visual ministies. It is very demanding and boring at the same time. I have to manage a staff of volunteers to make sure nothing goes wrong so even though I’m just sitting for most of the morning, I have to constantly be observing powerpoint, video, 6 different cameras, musicans, mixers, where the pastor is, when the pianist will begin.

I’m also very busy this week because I am directing a show in conjunction with students from Saltworks and a local middle school. Monday is starts our tech week and we perform this coming weekend. The show I’m directing was written by a seventh grader.

Lindy is getting so big. She talks about her baby brother and pats Hannah’s belly. They spend time giving her dollies a bath in the sink and making them cry and patting them on the back. Don’t think she understands quite yet, but she probably understands more than we give her credit for.

Verbal Abused by a School Bus Driver

So I picked up Lindy yesterday after work and on my way home I was verbally abused by a school bus driver. yes, yes, I know, sounds crazy.

Apparently, MY lane was the lane he wanted to be in to drop students off, so he screamed at me until I backed up so that he could drop his kids off on my side of the street. I wouldn’t be surprised if there was some obscenities in his screaming but I was completely caught off guard not knowing if I should pull forward now that he had put his stop sign out or if I should comply to his threats and just back up. I backed up, he dropped the kids off who all looked at me as if I was the devil. Then he proceeded to pull out and scream even more at me, throwing his fist out the window.  Now, I would like to think I did nothing wrong in this situation; EITHER WAY, his behavior was completely uncalled for. He was a GROWN man, probably in his 50s.

There was one witness, a father waiting for his children who acted as if this was a normal thing and didn’t even blink.

I am sick to my stomach thinking about it. I was sick for most of the night, wanted to go home and cry.

Happenings This Past Week

Cleaning Out Mom’s Purse

Little munchkin found my purse and dumped everything out before church on Sunday. I guess it was time for me to clean it out but as you can see, she found some interesting stuff.

Pictures of Lindy’s brother!

Baby Harris is due on March 24th. Pregnancy is going well, if I could just kick this sinus infection/cough. Going on 3 weeks now of hacking all night. I’ve had to move to the couch temporarily so that Dale can get some sleep. I’m sure the baby is not getting sleep either with my coughing!

Dale’s Big Accomplishment

Dale was finally able to finish our LAST project on the house this weekend with the help of some very generous friends. They had our retaining wall fixed in less than 5 hours. Thank you to Matt, Jon, Gabe for your help, and the wives you shared their husbands on Saturday.

Halloween

Lindy dressed up as a pink poodle this year thanks to some friends from church who had an extra outfit. Saved us $30. It was fun this year to go out because Lindy knew what was going on and enjoyed eating the candy. We went out to our 3 friends houses and then went home to give out candy thinking we’d have a bunch of kids. We had 4 children stop at our door. HO HUM.

Stopped at the stoor to pick up 2 items. Candy and ironic…my insulin. Thought it made for a good picture.
