Baby Boy Harris

Great news! The baby boy looks healthy and the right size for 20 weeks!! Dale and I had an enjoyable time at the doctor on Wednesday finding out the gender of baby #2. I asked the technician if we could possibly be confused with the umbilical cord and she laughed. Nope, definitely a baby boy.

Can you imagine a little Dale running around the house? Wears me out to think about it! ha.

I look forward to learning all about baby boys! We are due March 24th but all of us at work and home are mentally preparing to have everything ready by March 1st. I am praying deeply that we don’t run into any issues at the end but being Diabetic puts me at high risk again. At least I won’t be renovating or moving when I’m 9 months pregnant.

Lynn who was taking care of Lindy that day had her all prepared to say boy or girl when I walked in the door. Lindy really didn’t care to look at the pictures but I explained to her that she was going to have a baby brother. We’ve at least been playing with her dollies, patting them on the back when they cry and feeding them bottles.

I’ll post the pictures next week.

Mysterious Package -Not so Mysterious Anymore

We received a mysterious package in the mail this week, a fun CD of Peter Paul and Mary children songs. Only problem is, we don’t know who it is from…oh wait. Dale just told me who it was from. Davida. ha. THANKS DAVIDA. The day it came in the mail, I was confused because there was no note. ha. We like the CD And I had one of the silly songs in my head all day yesterday. “I’m being eaten by a boa constrictor.”

Pastor Rock had a important sermon today regarding politics and reminded us that no matter who is elected, God is the only one who can change people’s hearts and this world. We as Christians need to stop putting so much faith in the government and politics. A good reminder for me (Hannah) who is very passionate about getting Obama elected. Both candiates have good points and bad points, God will put into place whom He chooses.
On a different note, big week this week, we find out if Baby #2 is a boy or a girl!

Lindy and the Alphabet

I have been working with Lindy everyday on her alphabet and I think it is sticking. I think she is brilliant. She can recognize over half of the alphabet by looking at the letters in books, on the street, and on the computer. She is really good at recognizing X, A, W, B, I, J, Z, Y, O and K. The other day we were driving to church and there was a gas station on the side of the road, a Circle K. Lindy yelled K! about 4 times before I realized what she was talking about. We have been learning the alphabet through a fun online game at www.starfall.com. I have nothing to compare this age to besides a baby, but this age is a blast. She is communicating really well, I’m able to understand almost everything she wants/says.

EVERYONE tells me that Lindy looks like her daddy. What do you think?

I saw a fellow aquaintances idea to play with colord water on their blog, so we decided to try it. Lindy played with the water for an HOUR straight. Loved mixing the colors. I added ice eventually and that was an even bigger hit. Waste of water but fun!

I think our dog Indiana is cold all the time. I grabbed our space heater the other day to warm up the room we were playing in and he laid down RIGHT in front of the heater for almost an hour and didn’t move. This picture does not do him justice. His nose was almost touching the heater. His fur was almost on fire.

The Camera is Fixed!

Nephew and Cousin Bobby was having a football game closer to the city of Pittsburgh so we drove an hour north to watch his game! We were able to catch up with Uncle Doug and Aunt Tracy. Good thing we brought some warm coats -the temperature dropped very quickly!

Silly Camera

I’m beginning to think that Canon Powershot Camera is not a good one to keep even though it broke because of what I did. I dropped it on its lens and now it does not work. We are really disappointed that we have to put money into another camera when we’ve had this one less than a year. Bummer.

Thank you to all of you who called and sent cards for my birthday! I felt special because of all of you. Dale got up with me at 6am before work and made me breakfast and gave me a few gifts. He bought my perfume and of all things, found one of my garage sale finds that had broken 3 years ago and I never got to use and re-built it! I’ll take a picture of it -oh wait. Not until I get a camera. After work and doing some things late that night, I came home about 9pm and Dale had another gift for me. An antique jewelry box!! We had a fun time cleaning it together, fixing it up, and watching the debates. I’ve wanted a jewelry box for some time because my jewelry is such a mess crammed in its current box. Good news, he found it at a thrift store for $5!

We had our good friends Brian and Megan come back into town and they needed a place to stay. The attic is finally getting some use! We have enjoyed catching up and watching Lindy and their daughter Claire interact. They are actually playing together for once!

I have hit my 4 month mark and am feeling just fine. Trying to make sure I take it slow from the getgo. I am looking forward to a less stressful 2nd and 3rd trimester when I’m not remodling a house or moving. I pray that will give us a less dramatic birthing experience! All my bloodwork and tests and ultrasounds are on target -we’ll find out the gender of this little one on October 29th!

Had an interesting experience at church yesterday. Our Previous Workship Pastor, whom our church adored, moved to be a Pastor at Nyack College and he brought his Gospel Chior with him to lead worship. It was JAMMIN’ and fun to be a part of. You could feel the presence of God throughout. So, as the previous Worship Pastor came up to speak, it was almost as if the Spirit wasn’t ready to move on. The guest worship pastor couldn’t get a word in, the band started trickling back on stage, and he broke out in “When I think about Jesus and what he’s done for me.” People started dancing in the aisle -it was something I’ve never experienced before. wow. Needless to say, he never got to his sermon, their was an alter call and amazing spiritual things happened yesterday in our church that only Heaven can tell. And Dale -was asked to run the sound board -did a fabuluous job keeping up with everything!
