Craigslist

Craigslist

I was just telling Dale last week that we need to start thinking and budgeting for Fall/Winter clothing for Lindy. We need to get 24 month clothing for winter. This week, found some clothing on Craigslist so Saturday we all loaded into the car and drove across town to take a look at the clothing. We ended up at a younger couple’s house and her whole dining room table was COVERED in name brand clothing stacked HIGH and all the right season/age. So, I started shopping. We only brought $50 cash to spend and by the time I had picked through everything, it was probably $200 worth. We asked if she’d take $75 for all and she said YES!. ha. I don’t even NEED that many clothes but we decided it was a better deal than taking just a few items for $50. 7 bags, 12 pairs of shoes, 4 coats, and 150 pieces of clothing later, we walked out with a huge wardrobe. I hope we have another girl!

Lindy enjoying breakfast one morning, warm pumpkin bread that momma made the night before. Notice the fleece and mismatched socks. A few weeks ago when we woke up, the temperature had dropped over night so dramatically that we had to bundle up!

Baby Harris #2

So, for those of you who did not get the subtle hint last week, yes, we are expecting baby #2 in March 2009!!!

The baby is 12 weeks now and everything seems to be progressing smoothly. I again didn’t get sick although I was extremely tired those first few weeks. Not as tired now, although Dale would say I sleep a lot. ha. I will probably have 6 ultrasounds again due to the fact that I am “high risk” because of my Diabetes. Can’t complain about seeing the baby. I have my second ultrasound this week -it is so exciting to see the baby and hear the heartbeat!

August Happenings

August has been a very exciting month, so exciting we haven’t had a chance to update the website. Our apologies. Bobby Lundquist you can lay off my back a little now.

Dale directed Just So Stories for his August show at Saltworks. A play about 5 of Rudyard Kipling’s Just so Stories. Most famous would be “How the Elephant Got his Trunk”.  The show took place in a 1902 Victorian Living Room but the walls moved to allow more space for the actors to perform. Dale was especially proud of the crown molding. There is a piece of it on our front porch right now, he hopes to decorate the new babies room with it but I don’t know if I’ll let him.

Lindy has been moved into a “big girl” bed. She actually sleeps in it 75% of the time -not bad. The rest of the time, she is sleeping on the floor or in the closet. This afternoon, she was asleep in the middle of the floor, no diaper, and each foot in a pair of different pants she had pulled out of her dresser. The cutest part is that after we say our prayers at night, she runs from daddy’s lap to the bed and jumps in and immediately says “bye.”

Lindy got her cast off last Friday. Oh yes, in case you lost score or have been confused by the last posting, this is her SECOND arm break in 2 months. First was on her right hand, second was on her left. A break that happened on the flat surface of a playground, running full speed and falling. That was a rough walk back home with a crying child from the park. We are expecting social service to call any day now.  I think it hurts us more than her.

A Few Things Going on

Wow. We have had an amazing 3 weeks. Jammed packed with actitivites. Here is a list:

  • Finished the attic suite
  • Rich & Michelle and children came to visit -twice
  • Flew home to Kansas for fourth of July
  • I had my first rowing meet

I also rehearsed for my musical for a month and is currently in its run

Lindy is repeating everything she hears

I am exhausted. We just finished our 4th show of the week. We have 4 more starting next week on Thursday Then we drive to Illinois for Dale’s Grandmother’s 90th birthday party. I think come August 10th -we will have time to do absolutely nothing. I’ll try to post more pictures and videos this week.
