Out Little Girl

So, she does look like a boy when she is not wearing a dress. Even wearing pink, she gets called a boy all the time. A pink Steeler jersey would help but we can’t do that -gotta stick with the black and gold.

Lindy’s favorite toy is her hockey stick. Yes, her miniature hockey stick that daddy got for Father’s Day. We walk in the door, she heads for the stick and starts batting at things on the floor with it. I can’t tell if she just associates it with daddy and ALWAYS getting attention the instant she picks it up or if she truly just likes to play with it. I never ever in my whole entire life imagined my daughter playing hockey.

I am going to start playing a new game with her and try to distract her from the hockey stick. Maybe put diapers on dolls and change their clothes and feed them.

2 + 2 = 4 Teeth

I finally snapped a shot of Lindy’s top 2 teeth. They came in

about 2 weeks ago. She has 4 total now. The top 2 teeth

were way more painful for Lindy and she let us know.

We are enjoying Lindy’s sweet spirit more and more each day.

Her personality seems to be sweet with a little stubborn streak;

she gets it from her momma…right? She is such a joy in our life.

When she says hello it comes out with a British accent -cutest

thing ever. It’s amazing how she has picked up tones and

voice inflections from us and is imitating them.

Our Little Monkey

Lindy absolutely loves to eat bananas. I started to cut them into little chunks and then realized that there was no need. She’ll just grab the banana and go right at it!

She is growing so fast. She is onto sippie cups, eating her meals with us, and has graduated to the #2 car seat.

Happy Birthday Lindy Lou!

I cannot believe one year has gone by since we were in the hospital with our new baby girl. Dale surprised me by sending flowers to work on January 2nd and said, “Remember where you were this time last year?” I was admitted into the hospital that day. Made my day.

We celebrated Lindy’s birthday last weekend followed immediately by a big thank you party to all who helped with our house. We had such a lovely weekend with friends and family. My mother, Liz and Kavan, April & Justin and their kids all came in for the weekend to celebrate AND help us out before the party. They were literally on their hands and knees scrubbing floors, painting ceilings and pretty much putting the house back in shape. THANK YOU guys for coming up and helping us out. I know you weren’t expecting to do that much but it really really came together hugh?

We gave Lindy her birthday cake and she wasn’t quite sure what to do with it. She’d look at it and then us and it and then us -almost asking permission to touch. We pushed her hand in and then she finally got it. She never smiled that I saw but she definitely was shoving the frosting and cake into her mouth.

I can’t say that the cake was worth it. The next day, all 3 of us came down with a stomach flu as well as my family who all flew home. As of today, I think Lindy is over it. I hate to think it but I’m sure somebody brought something to the party and just shared it with everybody. ugh.

The party was fun, once again, I didn’t have enough time to talk with everybody, felt just like our wedding. ha. I think there had to have been 70 people that came and went. wow. Once again my mom and sisters were rockstars. They made sure all the food was out and kept refreshing it -I didn’t have to worry about a thing.

The attic didn’t quite get finished but we got to a good party point. All the drywall was up. We decided to not even think about it for a week -so our week has come and gone. We need to keep on plugging away.
