New Addition to the Family

So, we might be crazy, but we adopted a dog this weekend. We stopped at a shelter yesterday and fell in love with this dog.

“We named the dog Indiana.”

He is a 5 year old collie mut, 50 lbs, can respond to the basic commands and tolerant of children -what more could we want!

Our first day was perfect with him. We’ll see how tomorrow goes -he’ll be alone for 5 hours.

Lindy Lou Two

Lindy was feeling better this weekend but then this morning we got back from church and laid her down for a nap. She woke up screaming. We think her diaper wasn’t changed the whole time she was in the nursery. GRR. She had such bad diaper rash, she couldn’t sit down. We let her roam around naked for most of the day. No poop until we laid her in the crib for bed. Two things happened. We went upstairs because she was AWFULLY quiet, she was standing up in her crib. We went in laughing and then she pooped in her crib. ha.

Lindy Lou

She wasn’t this happy yesterday as she cried ALL morning for daddy. I was worried because the day before, I picked her up from the nanny’s house, brought her home, changed her diaper and we were sitting on the couch and a spider crawled out of her pants leg. I totally freaked.

Dale took her to the doctor and I said SEARCH HER BODY for a spider bite. Well, she has an ear infection instead. Daddy was a trooper taking care of her all morning.

My Brother Brent

My brother was having some vision problems and went to see the eye doctor on Monday this week. They tried to fit him for glasses. My mother with her fabulous maternal instincts called Brent’s cancer doctor and the very kind doctor answered the phone immediately and scheduled Brent for an MRI and CatScan yesterday. They found a 2.5 inch tumor inside his brain. Brent underwent a 9 hour surgery with a team of 12. They were able to biopsy the mass as well as take out 50% of it. The other 50% was too close to the optic nerve and other important parts to successfully remove. He will undergo radiation and chemo to get rid of the rest of the mass.

He does have Ewing Sarcoma, the cancer Brent had 6 years ago. He got out of bed today and was able to walk! Can you believe that!! wow. Less than 24 hours and he is up and moving and back to joking around. His eyesight is better as well.Thank you all for your thoughts and prayers and kind e-mails sent our way. I’m sorry we can’t respond to all!

Fishy Fish

I snapped some pictures of the aquarium. You can’t really see fish but you can admire the 140 lbs of rock!

It is a freshwater aquarium with tropical fish. Hatchbacks and Silver Dollars. Lindy loves sitting and watching the fish with me. She actually was sitting on my lap and started to reach for something in the tank. I looked and she had picked out the one rock that was not the right color and was trying to reach for it!
